i'm a sophomore and went through recruitment and pledged this fall. before rush started, i thought i "knew" the personalities of the houses well enough already and i thought i "knew" where i would fit in and where i would end up joining - but i didn't have a clue
i always thought all of the groups on my campus were GREAT, but i had never really been exposed personally to many Dee Zee girls until recruitment. i gave them a chance and WOW, here i am, happy as can be. even during recruitment there were only a few girls i got to know well enough to base an opinion on, but i figured that if they were having a great time and i loved them already, then the rest of the group had to have something going for them, too! you learn to appreciate your group even more after you pledge and i love my DZs so much already, more than i ever thought i would. i guess i can understand if you *really* don't think you can get along well in a group, but you seriously have to try to get to know some people in the group well enough to decide.
going through COB won't hurt anything. it will at least give you another chance to see what these girls are all about. if they're having a blast, i bet you could, too =) good luck!
