My opinion would be to try again. Rejection does hurt. But I think it is worse to go through life with "what if"s. I didn't get a bid at the first school I attended. And I would never have forgiven myself if I hadn't given it a second try when the opportunity presented itself, or even a third try had it come to that. You are obviously considering it, and in my opinion that makes it worth the risk.
