At UMCP, it seems like going to multiple interest meetings is looked down upon, at least by the BGLOs, but I have never understood or agreed with that. I am a member of Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. (LGLO if you can't tell by the name) and we ALWAYS encourage people to do their research, go to other meetings, visit other websites, etc. I guess its a little different for the LGLOs because we aren't nearly as well known as the BGLOs, so a lot of times people don't know what is out there. But, in my opinion, I think it should be acceptable across the board to visit informationals and programs of any/all orgs before you make your decision. We all know that pledging is a HUGE commitment, and personally I would rather someone go to interest meetings for every BGLO and LGLO on campus, then to go to only one, pledge, and then become unhappy and, in turn, inactive, because they feel later on that they made the wrong decision. Now, of course, in the application stage, you better have a solid decision at that point!! lol, but I don't mind other interest meeting visits early on.

BUT I must say, I can't STAND to see an interest who goes to EVERY meeting, EVERY program, EVERY event for XYZ sorority, and follows them around like a puppy dog, but then turn around and all of a sudden one day become an interest for ABC sorority and starts talking trash about XYZ sorority (probably cause they got denied)!!! I've seen it happen, and it REALLY irks my nerves.
