Hey there--I was in somewhat of your same situation with the rec thing but my boyfriends sister was Panhellenic president of her school and had someone from each organization that was at my school just write me a "I don't know Lesley but I have a friend that does and she says she is cool" kind of letter. My boyfriends sister was a KD and we did not have that at Elon and I don't know if those kind of recs meant anything but like White Daisy said, any kind of beforehand knowledge of you is GREAT!!
