Smith will probably be there at least another two years. If ya'll can recruit a defense, you'd be a contender.

"Fitzgerald is the best receiver to ever play the game, watch on his next catch, he'll score 3 touchdowns and tie this game back up".

Was a serious Fitz lovefest. Harldy a mention of the team that was 25 points up except that they had fireproofed the campus and were taking down the goalposts after the game. East coast bias much?
Fitzgerald really is that good. Thing of it is, if you stop him you stop the team. The right coverage can stop the guy.

White is the obvious Heisman choice right now because he has had a great year on the #1 team and he is a senior. Fitzgerald has the stats but sophmores don't win the Heisman so nothing to worry about.

I have to confess also that I haven't seen any sooner games so far this year, what makes White so good? (I see his stats are good each week)

Ohio St is now #2 in the BCS poll. Wow, if they beat michigan, looks like they will play Oklahoma since USC doesn't have any ranked teams left on the schedule.

Unless Kentucky or GA Tech upset Georgia looks like they willb e going to the SEC championship for the East since they changed the rules in the case of a tie the team with the best bcs ranking goes. The big suprize is it looks like Ole Miss with Eli Manning will be going for the SEC West. Who would have thought. I would still like to see a Georgia /LSU re-match.

White is a great story first and foremost. The man was injured in '01 early on as starter he tore his ACL against Nebraska. He went through extensive surgery/rehab, came back and was named starter again. On an early Non conference game versus Alabama he suffered the same injury to another knee. On both injuries, he was untouched. So now, he's come back after two knee surgeries and about 2 years of rehab to have numbers like 36 TD's and 6 INT's with 11 wins and no losses as QB. He's led the team so well that he's been held out approximately 1 1/2 games this year because of blowouts.

Surrounded by great players? Yes. However, these are the same players that were around when the OU under QB Hybl was thought to be a defensive powerhouse and an offensive non-starter. White is the difference.

With those numbers alone he shouldn't have any problems. To put it in perspective, Carson Palmer, last year's winner amassed these numbers in an entire season: 309-of-489 passes (63.2%) for 3,942 yards, 33 TDs and 10 interceptions. White still has 3 games left and is 216-of-332 passing (65.1 percent), 3,052 yards, 36 TDs, 6 INTs.

Pretty good numbers. He is a shoo in at this point. I haven't seen his name real high on qb lists for the draft next year but the injuries would explain it.

We OU fans have our fingers crossed that his current draft value might prompt him to apply for a medical hardship 6th year of eligibility so he can prove that he's not as injury prone as advertised.

As a local newscaster said last night-- BCS--remove the C and you've got the true meaning of the system.

I will not get started on my rant--but I will mention 4 things--

1. Its not over. When Michigan beats OSU this weekend, USC will reclaim 2nd.

2. Its not out of the question that we may even if OSU wins, we are only .19 behind them. Our strength of sched went down with the AZ game, it will come back up with UCLA and Oregon St.

3. That margin of win is not factored in anymore is wrong. Ohio State squeaked out that win without any offensive touchdowns. I am not saying they are not a good team, but they are a good defensive team, they are not a complete team like USC and Oklahoma are.

4. If USC, LSU and OSU win out and Ohio State goes to Sugar Bowl and beats Oklahoma, they will have to share National Championship with USC. Going into Sugar in that scenario, AP and Coaches polls would still be 1. Okla 2. USC 3. LSU and 4. Ohio State. Winning the Sugar Bowl would give OSU an automatic first place and share of National Champ in Coaches poll. But AP poll does not automatically do that. In AP Okla would drop, USC would rise, and share National Champ with OSU.

But its not over until its over. And our team is young, there is always next year, and, finally, we should not have lost to Cal. ha ha

I have nothing against USC and think Mich will beat Ohio St but:

Ohio St has played tougher teams which is no fault of USC but still. Margin of victory was thrown out the window for teams that purposely ran up the score on bad teams. Nothing like getting two cheap td's in the 4th quarter to get a point total up to 63 instead of 49. Purdue isn't a bad team at all, they were 11th at the time.

Hate to say it but if Ohio St beats Michigan, their strength of schedule will jump up much higher than USC playing UCLA and Oregon St. I was surprised to see OSU overtake USC before the Michigan game.

If anything, I would have thought that the big city and big media market bias would show up and put USC at #2 but its still possible for that. Look at TCU getting knocked down to #8 this week after they were in the bcs picture at #6 last week.

Actually, analysts have said OSU's SOS will not raise much after Michigan game, whereas USCs will raise significantly back up with UCLA and Ore St. We were 13 in SOS before the UofA game.

If OSU beats Michigan, there is nothing USC can do, but hope that they then beat Oklahoma, making us #1 in AP poll. ha ha

Ya'll are leaving out one small detail.

You have to beat Oklahoma.

Not gonna happen

Oklahoma is already crowned 2003 champs. But the good thing about college football is that there are other storylines about which teams go where.

Ok as long as Tennessee beats UK next weekend Georgia will be SEC East Champs because Georgia is the top BCS team for the SEC East. If Tenn loses, since UF beat Georgia they would be SEC East champs. Never thought I would root for Tenn, but Go Vols!
