Silliest ADPi rumor

What is the silliest rumor you ever heard about ADPi or Greek Life-- going through recruitment, as an alpha, as a live-in, as an alum....

For me, it was that "the principal founder of SAE was Eugenia Tucker's brother"-- which is why we share the lion, the diamond and the violet. LOL. Also, the rumor that Phi Mu was founded by renegade Adelpheans. Who comes up with this stuff?

That and years later, it is rumored in the Zeta Omega house that my old room is haunted. (Not bad for a house that wasn't even built until 1989!) Yikes!

The rumor that my room in the Alpha Iota suite is haunted has been around for years. It's so patently silly, yet so many people believe it! The latest is that they've named the "ghost" Charlie!

-The craziest thing I've heard here was at SDT's Lip Sync contest (actually it's more of a dance contest), We hired a choreographer for our dance moves..........they had to come up with some excuse since we won. But in all honesty we had like 4 girls that were dance majors and Sun Dolls at USF.-

No offense intended here! I wanted to tell you all what I heard, though judging from the GC ADPis, I don't see this happening. At my Alma Mater, the ADPis would supposedly hug the PNMs and make hand signs behind their backs to tell other ADPis what they thought about the particular PNM. I thought it was strange since people aren't supposed to be touched during Recruitment especially in the first few rounds. My Rho Chi specifically said not to shake hands with anyone (or attempt to) because it would be unsanitary. Oh the words of fools!

LOL-- the funniest thing about that is that when I was a PNM, that was the rumor about Zeta Tau Alpha at my university! I'm very sure the ZTA's selection system doesn't include secret hand signals to designate "yay" or "nay," just as ADPi does not. I wonder how these rumors get started!

there was a rumor going around UNLV that our outfits for initation had holes for our breasts to stick out ( the fraternity guys loved that one)

??Not allowed to shake hands during recruitment? I think it's kinda rude if you don't shake hands with the PNM. Interesting..... Plus, a good, solid handshake I think shows confidence! Our Rho Chi's always had mints and hand sanitizer stuff anyway!

We had like 1500+ people going through recruitment though!

One rumor that I heard at our school was that we enforced makeup and clothing makeovers.

Oh and that we all had to attend Bible Study. My Jewish and Moslem sisters got a kick out of that rumor!!!

The rumor about ADPis on my campus was that during the pre-initiation period (at that time it was officially called Friendship Days, but better know as Hell Week!), the sisters made the pledges wear bathing suits or bras/panties, then circled the pledges' fat with permanent black markers!
