I had the EXACT same thing happen to me in college! I had remained friends with my ex-boyfriend (which was easy, since the relationship was stalled beyond being able to go any further), and his new girlfriend hated me. They're married now, and she STILL hates me - and there's absolutely no reason to do so! The best part is that I'm able to enjoy myself, while she gets her panties twisted in way too many knots! I feel bad for him, though.
ETA: I feel bad that he gets uncalled for grief. Otherwise, no one put a gun to his head to get him to marry her (that I know about!).
