Congratulations to Pi Alpha chapter of Delta Zeta! You are off to a fabulous start. I'm crossing my fingers that our Eta Eta chapter (at UCF) will do just as well on their first formal recruitment.
On a related note, I'd like to give props to NPC and the individual organizations for the way they're doing colonizations these days. When my chapter was founded back in 1981, our founding class was only twelve women, while total was in the sixties. The new chapter was responsible for recruiting up to total. Now it seems that the trend is to recruit to total during a colonization so that the new chapter can get off on equal footing. The fact that all these new chapters are taking quota (DG at Auburn and DZ at UF, to name a few) also shows the strong national support given these chapters.
Yay for starting out strong!
