Addressing a ghost doesn't hurt anything. The part where you run into trouble is asking it to "show itself"...that's like giving an open invitation for it to wreak havoc. Just don't.

And the thing about the Ouija board...the boards themselves are not dangerous. They are just pieces of wood or plastic or whatever they happen to be made of. Ouija boards only become dangerous when people get careless in using them as a medium to reach spirits. Normally, the boards can be used safely IF you are careful...that means no asking to spirits to show themselves, no inviting spirits to "give a sign" as to whether they're there, and always moving the planchette to "Goodbye" when you are finished using the board. Supposedly, not doing so can allow the spirit to stick around.
