Talking

Because I am NOT a member of any BGLO, I will refrain from posting my guttural response. Anyone that brash and ignorant is going to ruin her chances on her own anyway.
I wouldn't be surprised if she "shows up" at the next rush in "inappropriate" colors!
LOL

I hope the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. don't mind me posting here, but I think people have gotten a little too bold when ezpressing their interest in an organization. Let me tell you about my situation. I have family who are members of 5 of the 9 NPHC organizations, and one of my cousins is not only a member of the organization I hope to be a member of but he is an advisor to a chapter in the area. Now he and some of my other family members would ask me what organization I would like to be a part of and I just smile and the only thing I say is "I'm not going to say" or "I'm not sure." I knew in my heart which organization I would like to become a part of but even around family you still have to be discreet. Well when I thought the time was right I talked to my cousin in private. I approached him as if we weren't family because I believe family is family and fraternity/sorority business is fraternity/sorority business. We talked and I told him what I was doing as far as community service and things, and then I asked him, if I got the opprotunity to try and become a member of his organization, would he feel confortable writing me a recomendation. The point of this long story is even though I was talking to my cousin who has known me for all 20 years of my life, I understood that in order to show him I was serious and to show his organization the respect it deserved I approached him in the correct manner. I could not imagine just going up to someone and saying I'm going to be a xyz, throw up their sign and do their call. Thats just down right disrespectful. I'm sorry for writing so much and I hope you ladies have a wonderful day.
