I used to really not think twice about Jesse Jackson; I just assumed he was a headline grabber seeking press for his cause but after the recent NASCAR controversy I can’t help but question the man’s integrity.

I totally agree with Tom Earp. As for abaici, you talk about alleviating the problems that plague your ethnic group, in my opinion Mr. Jackson is one of those problems. His hypocrisy and wavering morals compromise his credibility to the American public.

Maybe my Dad is rubbing off on me but I am not too big a supporter of Jesse Jackson. He can speak like only a few but his veiws for America are not mine. But just think if I died at the age MLK Jr. did I only have 20 years left to make a difference, that right there almost motivates me to do something.

As a University of Alabama alum, I do not believe that Jesse Jackson had any business sticking his nose into the hiring process of our most recent football coach. I would have been happy to have Sly Croom as the coach - as I am also happy to have Mike Shula. I hope Croom contacted Jesse and told him "Thanks for nothing". After Jesse's intervention, Croom could not possibly have been hired - it would have smelled of blackmail. The man needs to pick his battles and that was not one of them!!!!! He is embarressing to all -- black and white alike.

Being that Jackson is big in the NAACP, normally people who think they were shafted so to speak come to the NAACP or the EEOC for help, not the other way around. So in his defense, I think he was just doing his job, which is to investigate the allegations. Who would know anything about the situation if the people involved didn't say anything.....

According to the news reports and what Sly Croom said, he did not go to Jesse Jackson or any organization. He has an excellent job as an assistant pro coach. There should have been no input from anyone except those charged by the University to do the hiring.

Question

I missed the NASCAR thing. What is it??

I think Jessie Js problem is he sticks his nose in to many things that dont need his nose!

He is supposed to be a role model, God help the Young Black kids who hear his crap of do rightiousness.

Insurrection, yes, he preaches a doctine of no right but his right! Follow him and he will lead you!

He does not hold a candle to M L KING!

He is as egotistical as anyone I have ever seen!

K C, home of the Negro Leauge BaseBall Hall of Fame.

One of the greatest Players, Buck O'Neil is still alive and a hell of a lot better Role Model for Young Black Kids!
