Well I did warn you that a fast was not an effective weight loss plan.
If you want to lose some weight it's simple- Atkins not necessary (atkins can work for many people, but it is not the only way to lose the weight by far, and certainly not the best for everyone)- just moderate your intake and be more active. Walk more, run more, go to the gym.

Too much beer over the weekend, but still doing well on the food. I'll have to weigh myself tomorrow morning. Oh, I tried on the skinny jeans and it was not pretty. I've been slacking on the gym. I read somewhere that it's harder to lose weight on Atkins if you've done it before (and I have), your body becomes resistant to losing. Blech.
Oh, but I got some of that Breyer's low carb ice cream and it's GREAT. I wanted to eat the whole damn gallon.

Sooooooo how's everyone holding up? Sadly I'm not doing well at all. Once again, too much booze over the weekend accompanied by a quesadilla and some other no-nos. Ugh. And I haven't been to the gym in over a week. I feel like I've been really busy and tired during the week, but I think I'm just making excuses for myself. I need to read through the book again, everytime I do that I get pumped up, because the book is like "it's so easy to be skinny! and it's so fun!"
Maybe after I drink some hurricanes for Mardi Gras tonight

I started the Atkins Diet in the last week of September. I weighed 216 pounds, and looked like I was 6 months pregnant. I now weigh 175. 15 more pounds till I reach goal.
I also just had my blood pressure checked. 110/80.

I've lost a total of 14 lbs.
This evening, I was in no mood to cook dinner... my husband (who is purportedly doing Atkins with me) suggested we hit the pizzeria on the corner because he'd blown it at lunch. It was sooo tempting, but I stood strong, said NO and made up some burgers (no buns of course).

Above outfit fits!!! Now I am "afraid" it will be too big by the time I am ready to wear it. Ain't that a blip!
I need to do some serious shopping, but if this is an intermediate size for me I don't want to spend the money. For those of you who have lost weight, at what point do you start buying clothes, especially if you are still loosing/still want to loose.

I'm in my third week of the Atkins diet. In my first week I lost 6 pounds. I didn't weigh myself in the second week but I know I have lost a lot of inches. I will weigh myself on Monday and let you all know the progress. My fiance has been so pleased with my progress that he has decided to do it too. He lost two pounds in the first two days. We'll both weigh in on Monday.

I know what you mean. A few months ago, I realized that I needed some new clothes for work but knew (ok, hoped ) it wouldn't be too long before I was in a smaller size... so I went over to Filene's Basement and got a few nice outfits on the cheap. Now they're big on me, but still wearable in a pinch. Eventually they will go to Goodwill.

You know what, I cheated when I went out of town. I was one day away from my third week. Now I have to start over. Today, I am going to be committed, focused, and determined.

I was out of town this weekend as well and while I did well the first day (fyi, Ruby Tuesday's has the BOMB low carb menu. I had talipia (sp?) califlower mashed "potatoes" that were delish and brocolli. I also had 2 bites of cheesecake that was supposed to be low carb too. It was made with a nut crust. It was great!), I kinda fell off the wagon after that. I don't think of it as "starting over" though. I just pick up where I left off. If we don't see those small set backs and total failure I think we are more likely to get back in the groove of things!
Good luck!

i HATE the atkins diet even though I'm on it. the diet sucks. but i've lost a couple of pounds in the first week already. my bf and i are have sweet tooths and are going crazy. and i love potatos and all of that. so w3e bought some atkins food online last week and had it overnight shipped. we bought bun mix, and cookies, and cake, and cheesecake, hoping that would help us out a lil bit. no, it didn't. IT SUCKED!!!! it tasted nasty that we're sending it back. the only thing that was good was the caramel and peanut chocolate bars. they're kinda like snickers. and the caramel chews and toffee bits. but that's about it. so this is gonna be a hard 3 months

I tried the cereal and it tasted like carboard, with almonds. I just picked out the almonds
