Whites definitely have that advantage over African-Americans. It's not what you know; it's who you know.
That's simplifying things but its true to an extent. I had to train this young, white guy (my age) on the co.s computer applications. He was clueless, in general. It was so aggravating to hear about this guys drinking binges and how he never went to class. Yet he had secured an internship at my company. He was trying to secure a managerial position. Long story short, he got the hook up and I was hating.
Chris Rock in Bigger and Blacker made a joke about how 80% of the audience got their current job because they were recommended by a friend. THATS WHATS UP!
