I WISH they would give that tape to the African ladies who do braids up here because they will have you in their chairs for like 7 hours at a stretch and if you are LUCKY they have a tv, and if you are SUPER FORTUNATE they will play something on that tv in ENGLISH. Once I got stuck watching an African movie, in an African language about a woman whose husband is bewitched (literally bewitched by black magic) by another women. The other woman becomes his second wife and then kicks the first wife and her kids out. At the end of the movie the other woman gets turned into a dog (because the first wife holds the bible and goes "Jesus Jesus Jesus" no I'm not kidding, literally Jesus Jesus Jesus being the only words I understood in the movie).

It was painful. I was SERIOUSLY tempted to leave the place, EVEN THOUGH my hair was only half done. It was THAT BAD. I actually PUT MY FINGERS IN MY EARS and closed my eyes so that I wouldn't watch it by mistake. It made me want to run screaming into the night.

Cool

Hey at least you got the gist of the movie!! (just kidding)
Do this a couple more time and you will understand the language!.
Consider yourself fortunate if the place is clean and if there are no filthy children running around and touching your things!

I usually bring a book and a cd player with the mini earphones. works everytime!

Well here's my $19.08 worth on this topic-- I am so TIRED of giving my money to people that think I have to give it to them!!

If I made thei r little bad child wait 2 hours before I walked into my classroom and taught them anything-- it would be a major problem!!

about 2 months ago my beautician forgot about my appointment. I waited for her for about 20 minutes (she is an independent stylist in a large salon --Salons in the Park in Houston).
Anyway, she called me later and apologized--no problem.

Well about 2 weeks ago I had to miss my appointment. I called her and she had an ATTITUDE

So today, I stoped by the local beauty school and got a simple shampoo style and a pedicure all for $35 and a $5 tip

What happens between the school and the shop?

The main reason I have braids is because im tired of spending my Saturdays in the shop getting my knots fried. The same amount of time I wait to get my hair done, is honestly about the same amount of time it takes to get my hair braided.....6-8 hours.

I used to have 9 o'clock appointments, and my girl would be like you said you were coming in at 11. First off, im a morning person, so if she had a 6am appointment, I would take it. And after about 3 or 4 appointments of that, I was starting to get annoyed.

My hair always seemed to have these "stress spots" and she would always acuse me of hot curling my head. I mean not for nothing, but I don't find walking around with bald spots all that attractive on a woman, most especially ME!

My girl would charge me $35 for a touch up and $50 for a full perm. But adding that up montly got costly, so since I got my braids, my hair is back to it's original state and growing like wild fire, so I will never put another perm in my hair again or sit in a shop for 8 hours trying unless my hair is getting braided.
