I was 23 and he was 44 when we met.
He told me within a couple of months that he was going to ask me to marry him, but the actual proposal -- which I thought was a joke -- came on my 25th birthday (August, 2000). The official announcement of our engagement came around Thanksgiving. That was when I got the ring.
We were married January 12, 2001.
