Thanks for the clarification DolphinChicaDDD. I was posting from memory -- my niece has borrowed my copy so I didn't (don't) have it to refer to and may easily have gotten it wrong.
Still, I could make an argument (you'll learn, DolphinChicaDDD, that a good lawyer can argue
anything 
) that there could be a subtle difference between "and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives" and "does that mean that one of us has got to kill the other one?".
Oh well, we'll see one day.
