SORRY FOR THE LONG POST, BUT THIS WORRIES ME BEING THAT I KNOW SO MANY LITTLE ONES REACHING ADOLESCENTHOOD DURING THESE TIMES...

I believe that these kids are picking this irrational behavior by:

1) Watching the media. They've seen the Columbine incident, and just recently the Santana High one as well. It's like they figure that all they need are some guns and a full school, and there is a site for a fatality waiting to happen. These movies glamourize violence, and parents need to step up and monitor what their child sees on tv/listens to on the radio. I understand that you cannot supervise a child 24hrs a day, but do it when you can.

At home this is not being practiced:

2) Discipline. I don't want to put anyone's practices down, but I know that at upon me hearing my mom say "gimmie the switch/belt/"-whatever was handy at her reach, me acting out stopped immediately. You have to train your child right after birth to act in a certain manner (to behave)-you cannot expect to turn a 13-14 year old around! Start while they are young.

This needs to be done more:

3) Prayer. This definitely calls for prayer, but being that we are living in the last days, things are just going to get worse from here . "The family that prays together stays together" is no lie!! Lots of times, these children are either lashing out on what they experience at school or calling out for attention & by the time someone notices that something isn't right, it's usually too late.

We can't help those that have already commited the acts of violence, but let's show our daughters/sons/nieces/nephews/grandkids more attention. A hug and the words "I Love You" will do more than we know in their lives.

Peace and God Bless
