I can totally see myself doing that. In fact I probably will do something like that when I have kids. It won't make a difference if there's no Beta Chapter there (maybe my son will be up for colonizing???), but if there is my son better choose wisely.
I also know that if for some reason my little brother decides to go to KU, that I won't let him become a Beta there. No offense to any KU people, but I just know enough about the chapter to know that it wouldn't be a good fit for my little brother.
