1) Lucky Girl! I love Australia! Where are you going? It sounds so fun! I loved it when I was there.
2) If you want to eat well, order the fruit platter for your meals NOW. (Are you flying Qantas?). I did and I felt like a million bucks when I got off the plane (better than if you are full of the yucky quiche and lasagne that they serve).
As for books, I quite enjoyed "In a Sunburned Country", by Bill Bryson (a travel book about his trip in Australia). It was great and very funny.
