I'm definitely guilty of not giving some a try for superficial reasons...
We don't have formal recruitment on my campus, but there were several sororities I didn't even consider for pretty silly reasons(aside from the fact that most of them are locals and haze their new members like crazy). One of the sororities' letters spell POT and I just couldn't imagine walking around with POT on a shirt or jacket. Another has a sigma in its name, but for some reason everyone refers to the sigma as an "E" for their nickname. It just kinda bothered me, like how Delta Xi Omega's nickname is D
ZO instead of DXiO. Oh, and another's colors are lime greenish-yellow(not sure of the exact color) and brown. Great reasons, I know.
Anyway, I know I ended up where I belong and I love all my sisters.
