Also, at some schools, philanthropy events might involve drinking or other similarly inappropriate activities. One of the big fraternity philanthropy activities here is a big party/concert where they charge for entrance, then donate the money to a charity. I can just see some fraternity that's on social probation throwing a huge party with tons of alcohol and then trying to claim it's nota violation of their probation because they're giving the money they make off of it to charity.
