*sigh* EVERY GLO claims Betty Crocker! There was the Betty Crocker who was the model for Cookbooks #1,2,3,4 etc, the Betty Crocker who was the home economist, etc, etc, etc.

Jackie Kennedy went to a college without GLOs; Princess Grace didn't attend college (if she did, it was for a very brief time).

Reese Witherspoon is a Gamma Phi Beta.

Sarah Jessica Parker is most probably a Sigma Kappa.

Theta Phi Alpha can authentically claim The 700 Club's former Miss America, Terry Meeuwsen.

This is an urban legend...Reese is not a Gamma Phi Beta. But, I still like her!

As much I would love to be her sister, Reese is NOT a Gamma Phi Beta!

Mostly through word-of-mouth from some overly enthusiastic collegians lol. There have been others, but those were the most common. It's only a matter of time before Lilly Pulitzer and Kate Middleton are added. Basically anyone TSM-esque "must"be a Theta Phi Alpha.

When I was an undergraduate a had a very close friend who was a Theta Phi Alpha. She told me that while Mrs Kennedy and HSH Princess Grace were not undergrad initiates they were honoraries like JFK was an honorary Phi Kappa Theta. Might that be the origin of this urban legend?

I was being a smart-ass with my post. Sorry if that didn't come across. I know everything I posted is an urban legend and that Betty Crocker isn't real. But sometimes I like to pretend she is....

Sorry ladies, she's such a sweetheart, but she's not a Theta Phi.

Maybe this is who you were thinking of??

Sarah Jessica Parker isn't greek at all. Someone here met her at a signing she did for a clothing line, and she was clueless.

(Duh, what TPA85 said! I shouldn't skim!)

Reese is her mother's maiden name, her given name is Laura. So is Laura Witherspoon a Gamma Phi from Stanford?

I did know that about her name. I had heard the rumor about Reese being a Gamma Phi, and I've even seen it on some our chapters' websites, but I am sure she is not. I questioned it when I first heard this, because our Stanford chapter was open from 1905-1992, so it was closed before her time. Also, I am sure that she would be listed in the notable alumnae section of our website, and I'm sure she would have received the Carnation Award by now, like Kristen Chenoweth and Cloris Leachman. She's not in our database under any of these names, and these other women are.

Morris Chestnut is still not an Omega. Even his hesitant "hook" in The Best Man Holiday can't change that.

LOL I saw that and wondered if he purposely made it a little "off." Rumors were floating around that he's actually a Sigma and those have been debunked as well.

Wikipedia say Master P is an Omega. Is that legit or just Wiki fodder?

LOL. He looked like the writers and directors forced him to do that "hook". He made it quick as hell as though he prayed no one noticed it. LOL.

Morris is non-Greek and fine nonetheless.

Probably Wikipedia fodder. While there are BGLO members who didn't graduate college and there are eternal (insert title prior to initiation), I doubt Master Percy Miller is Greek. His handsome son (who it took me a while to consider handsome) is also non-Greek. If he decides to become Greek, I hope they stop showing those ICDC college commercials. LOL.
