I get that ALLLL the time. I've actually had people dialing a wrong number or bill collectors try to holla just because of it (now that's a mess).  This one time, my mother had to get her car towed and she went out to the car and the tow man called, after he asked if she was there, he was like, I know you got a man sounding like that, huh? I was like Uhhhh, what? Some people have some issues. Happened all the time when I lowered my standards and worked as a telemarketer. I got a sale one time because of it!!! 
And I have a combination Maryland and southern accent, even though Ive always lived here, except for 1 year.
