I haven't listened to them in a while, but I heard them a few days ago and was mighty impressed with their material. I think I am going to download some songs when I get home today!

I saw them live in San Francisco a few years back and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I never get tired of "THE ROOTS COME ALIVE"...it's always playing in the car.

Now, I'm a d-load fanatic, but....

When it comes to the Roots, I say, buy the CDs -- and go the concerts.

In college, I volunteered for security and stagehand duties for their concert on campus just to meet the fellas. They were extremely cool and quite patient when asked to pose for pictures.

Wished I was in Philly for the MTV $2Bill concert.

I think certain members carry the group a bit more. But I'm still a pretty big fan of the whole Okayplayer thang.

I've seen them a few times, in Dallas a month or so ago with Cody Chesnutt and Skillz, and on a couple of different tours.

They're definitely one of the best bands out there right now!

I must say, Spearhead comes very close to the Roots. Although I don't know if I would call Spearhead a hip hop band.
