love?

Interesting question and for someone who is 'in love' and has been in love with the same person for almost 15 years, I really had to think about this one. I think AKA2D91 said it right when she said you will know. Unfortunately, sometimes we, as AKAtude said get these feelings of lust or infatuation and think it's love because of the funny feeling we get in the pit of our stomach.


I think there are several 'signs' that help you to KNOW that you are in love (not lust, not infatuation)
1. First I think you have to actually know the other person for more than 6 months--and I'm not taking about 6 months of casual I've seen you around and think you're cute kind of knowing. I also think that that number (6 months) increases the younger you are.

2. If you know something utterly disgusting/embarassing about the other person (i.e. instead of clipping his toenails he bites them, he wet the bed until he was 15, etc.) and it does not change your feelings, you might be in love.

3. If you go to sleep at night thinking about him and wake up thinking about him, you might be in love.

4. If something significant happens in your day and you say "I can't wait to tell...." you might be in love.

5. If you have an urge to share everything about yourself and have no fear of his reaction, you might be in love.

6. If you'd rather be with him than anyone else in the WORLD you might be in love.

7. If the things that are important to him are suddenly important to you (his car, basketball, the pimple on his butt) you might be in love.

8. If you walk around with this goofy grin on your face because you think of him, you might be in love.

9. If you'd rather go to McDonald's with him than a 5 star resturant with (you fill in the blank--someone truly FIONE!!), you might be in love.

10. If the two of you can spend hours together with no TV, no radio (and no sex!) without talking and feel totally comfortable, you might be in love.

11. If you KNOW you would still want to be with him if he: a) got fat b)lost his hair, job, money, etc. c) was in a terrible accident, etc. you might be in love.

That turned into a longer list than I anticipated, but it's all I can think about right now....anybody else?
