I think it depends upon what your campus is like.

For example, if you don't have campus housing you don't want to bring on a fraternity where all the chapters have big houses on campus and it is a major focus of their programming. If you have a lot of non-traditional students, you don't want a group whose rules won't bend to accomodate that.
