I guess a lot of people don't feel there is anything wrong with posting that sort of information. Turn-of-the-century NYC is VERY different from today - and Stella was from Louisiana!
Prejudices are there and will always be there - unless you make every EXACTLY the same and what fun is that?!
It was actually the 'prejudices' that created every sorority or greek letter organization around (people did feel a connection with others, people were shunned by others because they were the first where they were, etc). I'm glad that the Kappa chapter didn't want to extend an invitation to Stella - and that Jessie, Bess, and Helen stood with their friend.
By the way, I love this thread about ADII and Phi Mu - but then again, it pulls at the Social Historian in me

, UWM is not UW-Madison. UWM is UW-Milwaukee. UW-Madison is either UW-Madison or for those in Wisconsin or neighboring states just Madison/Madtown (only because we tend to talk about UW-Madison more often in a way that leaves the UW part implied. . . ).
