Wow. She was just a little too comfortable using the "N" word. If she could say it just like that on the first day of class with 6 minority students listening, then she's probably said it a thousand times.
As an ex-Tarheel, I know that UNC is really really striving for diversity and there are more minorities there year after year. With all the protesting and publicity the Black Student Movement does, that Professor wouldn't have stood a chance of teaching there much longer. When David Horowitz (sp?) came to speak there, it was ugly.
