I know that at in my particular GLO, you had to maintain a certain GPA to remain active. However, you were given one semester (sort of like a probationary period) to get your grades back up if they fell below this point. During this semester, you could remain active. Although I never knew anyone who let their GPA drop that much while I was active, it must have happenend at least once or twice.

I know that the other chapters at my school also required their members to maintain at least the minimum GPA set by the school (it was 2.5 or 2.75 I think) for Greek membership. But I'm not sure how each chapter handled any cases where that happened. (Actually, I think if your GPA stayed below 2.5 for more than 1 semester, the school itself put you on academic probabtion).
