If you don't want to throw it away forever you have to first find out if there is potential.
Meaning, if you like this boy and you are attracted to him, quit beating around the bush and let him know. Don't bottle your feelings up inside, tell him how you feel, what is on your mind and ask him how he feels. Remember - no regrets, if you don't say anything to this guy and there was potential, you let it slip away.
You know, take a chance, it's life and a short one at that. Life is all about chances and if you find out that nothing will come of it, at least you know as much and you still have a friendship.
