I am going to give you a typical Republican answer: Why work when you can stay at home and have babies and get a government check every month. Take the easy road.
MY answer is that it seemed like she needed more guidence. If she did not understand the project or was having trouble then she should have come to you and talked it over. That would have been the mature thing to do. But judging from her actions she is not very mature yet.
