I got a KWERSTCHUN

I was just listening on the radio to "Hot in Herre" and this part of the song has ALWAYS confused me:

I got a friend with a ________________ in the basement. Then the girl goes, "WHAT!!!"

Now my guesses to fill in the blank are PHONE or POLE but why would either of those make you shriek "WHAT!!" So rap heads who UNDERSTAND Nelly -- tell me what he says.
