Ask yourself, why do we want them around? I know that's what we ask ourselves- it's what everyone here asks themselves. Fraternity guys, here at least, either have girlfriends (and I think we know how much my gf would love me to hang out with sororities) or have a lot of unaffiliated women throwing themselves at them. Why should we hang out with the sororities? I'm not a big believer in doing things for their own sakes. The purpose of mixers is for single-sex organizations to be able to have a full social life- but if you can do that on your own, y bother with all the trouble? (And yes, coming from a local and a very f*cked up Greek system anyway, my ideas about Greek unity are a little skewed, but I have a point.)
The same line of thinking happens on the other side of the line. I used to be social chair, and conversations with sorority social chairs went something like this: "We'd love to do a mixer, but we've really already got our budget wrapped up in bid day and our date parties, so why don't you call me beginning of next semester?" Eventually, you stop asking. The only time I see sorority women at fraternity houses is when they're not supposed to be there- during some huge party with 36,000 risk management violations.
So my advice is, don't even bother. This is post-modern American, women can do anything they like. So have fun on your own and nevermind the men- if they feel like they're missing something, they'll come running.
