It's not that the mods don't care. A lot of us do. Each mod only has the power to delete and lock threads in the forums they moderate. Only John can ban people. John cares as well but this site is not the only he has to run on top of all his business work he has to do. He promised to review the Uf Pike thing as soon as he can. He just can't ban some one because some one asked him too, he has to review all sides.
