Sorry I have to disagree with everyone here:

Definitely ask (I'm speaking generically here) when you are investigating joining a professional GLO whether you would also be allowed to join a social sorority. I did not ask, pledged my professional GLO, and later found out I could not join a social sorority. I was unbelievably disappointed. Please please please ask beforehand if you are interested.

*Note: This isn't to say I don't love my professional GLO, I adore it, and I'm now the president of my chapter. However, I was heartbroken when I couldn't pledge a social, and I don't want to see others make the same "mistake" *
