We ARE the only state that was once it's own republic and retains the right to leave the Union at any time.
Also, the Texas Flag is the only flag that i've ever seen flown at the same height as the US one. I've heard that it's because we were once a Soverign nation, but i think the truth is that we just THINK we should be able to do it, therefore we do.
