I agree--from your post, I can't really see what the problem is. My chapter was a colony when I joined, but we were just like any of the more-established groups on campus--we participated in all the Greek events, held our own philanthropy projects, and had social functions with other fraternities and sororities. So...from my understanding, your Greek advisor hasn't overstepped her boundaries.
