I know people tend to put tags on the left (probably because they're right handed), but it's actually more correct on the right - in part because when you shake hands, it's easy to sneak a peak at the nametag if it's on that side.

I was taught to put both name tags and pins on the left so that when you shake hands with your right hand, the other person can see your name. I would think that if your name tag was on the right, your arm would cover it up when you shake hands.
