We had a "Italian Wedding" exchange and it was one of the BEST exchanges we have ever had. It was kind of a week long event, leading up to the exchange. On monday, the pres. of the fraternity came with his "groomsmen" and proposed to our pres. Then we were sent inviatations to the wedding... the bridal party had a "dress rehersal dinner" on Wed. and then on Thursday before the exchange we had a bachlorette party for our bride to be and the guys had a bachelor party.
At the hall where we held the party, as we got off the bus the men were in a recieving line and we were escorted one by one into the hall to our seats. (All the girls wear the same color dress except for the bridesmaids who wore a different color, the guys wore shirts and ties). It went on like a normal wedding but it was REALLY obnoxious and loud because it was supposed to be like a stereotypical Italian maffia wedding. Afterwards it was like a reception with cake, dancing and ahem, a lot of drinking.... you just have to embellish on the small stuff and it will be an AWESOME party! I hope this helps you!
