The Ohio primary elections are over, and it looks like we might have our first Black governor: J. Kenneth Blackwell.

Sec'y of State Ken Blackwell will be representing the Republican party in the November general election race for governor against Democrat U.S. Congress Representative Ted Strickland.

Blackwell defeated State Attorney General Jim Petro in the primary race (more like "whupped that tayle", based on the election results), but it has been said that the general election will be a close one to decide. We'll see what happens.

BTW, Columbus mayor Michael Coleman dropped out of the governor's race last fall to focus more on his family's affairs.
