I went to a vigil at my school and prayed for the families of those lost. Today is my birtday and I am going to hold my head high and embrace this day as the celebration my parents intended. Though many people are still mourning, I had to move forward and not dwell on the crisis. I had a hard time dealing with 9/11 because my city was on such a high alert and I was truly afraid. In the past if I ever heard 9/11 I would smile and say, "That's my birtday!" I am back to feeling good about my 9/11. People still apologize when they see my ID, but I decided today that I would pray for those lost and put on my best dress and have fun.
