Here are a few of the specials coming on today:

9/11 TV Tributes…

BET: "September 11th: Telling Our Stories." Special reports and
personal statements from BET employees from 8:30-8:46 a.m. Moment of silence and reading of victims' names by New York Governor George Pataki and Mayor Michael Bloomberg from 8:46-9 a.m. Special on how people of color were affected by the tragedy at 9 a.m.

MTV: the music video channel will preempt its regularly scheduled
programming for 31 hours (starting Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 11 p.m. and ending Thursday, Sept. 12, at 6 a.m.) During that time, MTV will broadcast inspirational music videos, MTV News reports and special features including a "MTV News Now Special Report" on how pop culture changed after since Sept. 11, 2001.

NBC: 9-11 pm, "Concert for America" featuring Aretha Franklin, Al
Green, Gloria Estefan, Alan Jackson, Enrique Iglesias, Placido
Domingo and the National Symphony Orchestra. James Earl Jones and Angela Bassett will do dramatic readings. This show as taped Monday night at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in DC.

ABC: Charles Gibson, Diane Sawyer, and Peter Jennings look back on the events of Sept. 11 beginning at 7 a.m. Jennings will also moderate "Answering Children's Questions," a town hall forum. ABC's prime-time evening coverage will begin at 7 p.m. and will include a minute-by-minute account of the attacks, a report on national security, and a special edition of Ted Koppel's "Nightline."
