An Idea...
The current second v-p at the Alpha Theta Chapter ROCKS (then again, I might be biased...she's my real lil sister).
One of the ideas that she has had was to have the girls pick out masks of an animal that they were simular to (She found some really cheap around Halloween time). Then the girls talked about their personalities and such to help them warm up to each other. This worked great as an ice breaker. Kind of hard to be afraid of someone when you're giggling.
Another idea that might work is to do team building exercises. You can get ideas through your college, State 4-H and FFA programs, and maybe even look in a bookstore.
