I'm curious what bid matching method you are using that creates this situation. If bid matching is done correctly (or at least correctly as told by NPC) single intentional preference (or suicide as many of you have referred to it) does not reduce your odds of getting a bid to your first choice.

Some schools do have programs in place (such as guaranteed placement) that reward women that do put down as many choices as allowed but do not receive a bid through the bid matching process. I suppose this could be seen as increasing your odds of getting your first choice but in reality, it's just increasing the odds of receiving a bid in general.

I'm just curious if your campus is using a bid matching process that I am unfamiliar with.
