Maybe. I’m just saying that if someone is truly after a payday, the last thing they usually do is walk away before the marriage actually happens. Once you’re married, the leverage is there. Calling off the wedding eliminates that completely. That’s why the whole thing feels strange to me.

And yeah, some women stay with cheating guys, but that doesn’t mean all of them will. Some people will tolerate it, others won’t. It depends on the person and the situation.

I still think something else happened that we don’t know about yet. A prenup disagreement by itself just doesn’t seem like enough to blow up an engagement that’s two years in with two kids already involved. I’m just waiting to see what the real story is before assuming anyone’s motives.

I feel terrible. I actually thought I was pretty much done with going to weddings. One of my classmates I met when I was in vet school at Michigan State is getting married. I woke up to a text message from her this morning with a link to their wedding website. My family and I will be out of town the week she’s getting married. I feel terrible because she came to my wedding… so now I’m just like…. 🫤

Kind of but not really? It’s June 14th. And no, I didn’t even know she was getting married until that following morning. She texted me the wedding website at like 1 a.m., but obviously I was asleep.

I saw it that Saturday morning when I was heading out for coffee to meet my friends, and I’m standing there like… wait. Wedding? Husband? Since when? Because she has literally never mentioned a guy during any of our phone conversations. Not one “he said,” not one “we went,” not even a soft launch. Just boom!… wedding website.

I’m literal because consequences are literal. A baby, child support, court, and drama are all literal. And it’s even worse when it’s with somebody you don’t even want long term. Now you risk permanent problems with a temporary person. That’s a terrible contract.
