How is GC running for you right now? (Slow? Fast?)

I made some changes to the web server hosting hardware and software.

It would be good to know how GC is running for everyone.

Please feel free to post comments here from time to time so I get a better overview of how the site is running.

Some of the changes are temporary. So we'll test things as they are right now and then will see what kind of difference the next server adjustment has on things.

GC is running decently right now at 2119 PST.

Some of the threads load right away when I click on them and some take a few seconds to come up. I tested it out by opening threads with less than 10 posts as well as some of our giant threads. There was no pattern as to why some threads come up right away and others don't.

That being said, just glad to see GC back up!

Initial speed differences are probably due to the slower threads not having been loaded yet since the last server reboot. So the initial loading of a thread will be a little slower for that reason. After initial thread loads they are usually cached in memory, making them faster.

I have GC on different physical server hardware compared to what we've been on for approximately the last 18 months or so. So trying to get an idea of how this setup compares to the other server hardware.

Unable to login from a phone yesterday, kept saying bad name/passcode when I knew it should be good.


Logged in fine on a computer today. Haven't tried phone login today.


Had there been any issues like this for others?
