My Kiwanis Club does a lot on the 4th with the local city festival. We have a bike decorating clinic for kids who want to ride their bikes in the parade, then we have the parade and throw candy to kids during that. Then we are having a cute pet contest fundraiser at the carnival. There are amusement rides and junk food, a craft show, a beer tent and live music all day. We have a booth where people submit pics of their pet. We have a donation jar for each pet and the one that has the most money in the jar at the end of the day wins. The money goes to our service projects.
Then they have fireworks. It's TKEGuy's turn to come here this weekend and I'm hoping he'll come out before the fireworks. My friend lives near where they shoot them off so we watch them from her house.
