2022/2023 New Chapters/Expansions/Charters/Closures

Iota Phi Theta will be establishing a chapter at Quincy University(IL).

In addition to adding Iota Phi Theta, the university is upgrading the existing houses.
Currently, they have Phi Sigma Sigma, Alpha Omicron Pi and Delta Tau Delta; but it sounds as if they are open to expanding their Greek Life presence.

“But for us, specifically, students want to be part of something. They need to be part of something. When they feel like they’re part of something, then you want to stay. You want to give back. So Greek life is another thing for our students to be part of. So, now you have houses that will attract students … who will be part of an organization that will give back to the community and give back to themselves and fulfill a larger mission (that matches the university’s).”

Quincy University also has a chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma.

If, and this is a big if, the university is really serious about upgrading their Greek community, it will be a big change. They have seemed to be actively trying to discourage Greek life up to this point. Our chapter has struggled with their housing and the university doing their best to discourage the chapter members from having a safe and secure place to live.
