I loved Vanilla Sky AND the Virgin Suicides. The trick to fully understanding the latter is to read the book...I did that between viewings and it helped out a lot. American Beauty is also one of my favorites, and I really need to watch A Clockwork Orange. Disturbing--yes, but also thought-provoking. Not a bad combo.
Kids is WICKED disturbing. What's even scarier is that I have friends from NYC who know the kids who were in it. It's not a far-off fantasy from some of their lifestyles, allegedly.
