Please check the message boards in the Greek Life forum as well as all of the NPHC sorority boards. I believe these posts can answer your questions.

Good Luck!

Hi,
I am very interested in joining a particualar NPHC sorority. I've studied the history, know some members of the sorority, participated in most functions, done LOTS of volunteer work, and my GPA is in order. My greatest fear is that I will miss the interest meeting flyer. At my school, this particular sorority is most popular because they do the most public service and have the highest GPA. Every girl I know is really interested but is scared to talk about it (I don't blame them). They are very selective and because of this, they are known to post informational meeting flyers in places where no one will look. I recall seeing an interest meeting flyer for another group up at 8am one morning and it was down 3 hours later. Is there a reason for this? Is it just to narrow the competition even more? Is this normal for other chapters of NPHC sororities as well? I mean, I realize that they're not going to write it out in the sky w/ an airplane, but I do not understand why they wouldn't want a larger pool of educated women to choose from. And I refuse to even think about embarassing myself by asking a member of the sorority an inappropriate question about when the next informational meeting will take place. When a GLO (versus a BGLO) announces rush, their are huge signs, informational letters mailed to qualified ladies, and friendly phone calls are made so that people are informed. I realize GLOs and BGLOs are completely different, but I just don't understand this. Can anyone explain this to me??
