Question for NPHC sororites...

I mean, I realize that they're not going to write it out in the sky w/ an airplane, but I do not understand why they wouldn't want a larger pool of educated women to choose from. And I refuse to even think about embarassing myself by asking a member of the sorority an inappropriate question about when the next informational meeting will take place. When a GLO (versus a BGLO) announces rush, their are huge signs, informational letters mailed to qualified ladies, and friendly phone calls are made so that people are informed. I realize GLOs and BGLOs are completely different, but I just don't understand this. Can anyone explain this to me??
